As a painter working closely with materials, Dawn, the force behind Tallow Tarian became interested in the substances we place on the skin. The same care given to pigment and medium began to shape her approach to skincare.

Working with ancestral materials—grass-fed tallow, botanical oils, and mineral pigments—she began composing formulations the way she composed paint.

Today, each piece from the studio is made slowly, by hand.
