Rototo
Founded in 2014 by designer Daisuke Ishii, RoToTo was created with a simple philosophy: “If you find a small happiness in your daily life, your life will be enriched.” This belief guides everything we do, from the yarns we select to the machines we carefully maintain.
Our socks are manufactured in Nara Prefecture, a region renowned for its sock production in Japan. Sock making began in this area over 100 years ago with a single machine brought over from the United States, establishing a craft tradition that we proudly continue today.
At RoToTo, we believe in creating “lifelong consumables” — products designed to be cherished and worn for years to come. We carefully select vintage knitting machines that involve considerable human input, moving away from modern automated systems to put quality above all else. Our small-batch production combines the region’s deep craft knowledge with meticulous attention to detail.
Every pair represents a careful balance of traditional techniques and modern sensibility, crafted by skilled artisans who understand that true comfort comes from the perfect harmony of materials, machinery, and human expertise. We aim to bring joy to your life, one exceptional pair of socks at a time.
